P-51 FF Sport Model

Dick Baxter (2 Sirus, Laguna Niguel CA 92677) built this stick-and-tissue “replica” P-51 FF sport model. It has a 16-inch wingspan and weighs approximately 10 grams. It is covered with computer-printed tissue.

Dick wrote, “It isn’t a scale model but everybody can easily recognize its P-51 ancestry. It looks a lot better than a one-sided profile model to me.”

Dick also reports that the model is capable of flights of more than one minute in duration and can be flown indoors or outdoors with minimal retrimming.
