Skyripper Twin

Richard L. James (3162 Forest Breeze Way, St. Cloud FL 34771) scratch-built this original Skyripper twin-engine sport RC model. It weighs 35 pounds and has a wingspan of 94 inches. Construction is balsa and plywood.

A foam-core wing was used and it features an aluminum spar. Two Quadra 42 engines tuning 18 x 10 propellers power the Skyripper. The finish is exterior latex paint over fiberglass cloth and epoxy base. A JR652 radio is used, along with 9 servos and a 1400 mAh battery.

Richard wrote, “The airplane has a short takeoff run and climbs out steeply. It is stable in flight and loops and rolls nicely.”
