| Boise Bee Steve Perovich (9428 175 St. Ct. E., Puyallup WA 98375; E-mail: s4steve@earthlink.net) built this P-47 Thunderbolt from a Top Flite Gold Edition kit. The aircraft is completely finished in fiberglass cloth and was airbrushed using colors according to military specifications. All of the lettering and the Boise Bee nose art were done on a computer. Steve explained, “I have roughly 13 hours in fine tuning the nose art alone.” An O.S. FZ 91 engine that is mounted inverted powers the airplane. A Slimline 15-degree Pitts muffler was used and the P-47 features Robart pneumatic retracts and a scale cockpit kit. |
