| Old Spot Bernie Evenson (1711 N. 85th, Kansas City KS 66112; E-mail: abbinkc@aol.com) sent this photo of his nephew Lester Dowdle, also from Kansas City, with his Balsa USA J-3 Cub. Lester wanted a Cub that looked different and this is the result. A Zenoah G-23 powers the 98-inch wingspan model, and it is covered with 21st Century fabric. The circles are cut out from vinyl self-adhesive sheets. Bernie informed us that, “The airplane’s nickname at all the local fly-ins is Old Spot.” |
